JIM JENNINGS

KIWANIS INTERNATIONAL TRUSTEE


Jim Jennings of Green Valley, Arizona, was elected to a three-year term as a Trustee of Kiwanis International at the 93rd International Convention in Orlando, Florida, in June 2008.

Jim has belonged to the Kiwanis Club of Santa Ritas, Green Valley-Sahuarita since 2002.  He is a former member of the Kiwanis Club of Byron, Illinois, and a past Illinois-Eastern Iowa District administrator for Key Club. Jim is a Hixson Fellow, Tablet of Honor recipient, and Heritage Society member of the Kiwanis International Foundation. He holds Life Member status in the Southwest District.

Before joining the International Board, Jim served as a member of the Kiwanis International Committee on Key Club and as the 2006-07 Southwest District governor. He also served on the Kiwanis International Task Force to develop the Key Leader program, as a district Key Leader Chairman, and on the International Key Leader Advisory Team.

Jim is a retired high school math and history teacher and former associate principal.  In addition to his involvement in Kiwanis, he serves as co-chairman of the Desert Southwest Conference Strategic Direction Team for the United Methodist Church. He assumed a number of leadership roles in Illinois, including that of police commissioner, president of the Byron Forest Preserve District, president of the Village of Progress Board, president of the Byron Chamber of Commerce, and executive director of the Museum District.

Jim and his wife, Sherry, are parents of 2 children.
