KIWANIS INTERNATIONAL TRUSTEE
William E. “Ed” Hutchinson of Cape May, New Jersey, was elected to a three-year term as a Trustee of Kiwanis International at the 93rd International Convention in Orlando, Florida, in June 2008.
Ed has belonged to the Kiwanis Club of Cape May for the past 28 years, serving as president in 1983-84. Among his Kiwanis honors, he is a George F. Hixson fellow, a Tablet of Honor recipient, a Heritage Society member of the Kiwanis International Foundation. He holds Life Member Status and a place in Kiwanis’ Legion of Honor.
Before joining the International Board, Ed served on the Kiwanis International Membership Committee and as the 1998-99 New Jersey District governor. He also is a Kiwanis certified trainer.
In addition to his involvement in Kiwanis, Ed is owner and innkeeper of the Fairthorne Bed and Breakfast and a retired Bell Atlantic network engineering specialist. He is a member and past president of Preferred Inns of New Jersey, historic Accommodations of Cape May, and the Greater Cape May Chamber of Commerce. He holds membership in the Professional Association of Innkeepers International, the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts, has served on the Cape May City Mayor’s Advisory Committee, and is part of the City and County Library Commissions.
Ed and his wife, Diane, are parents to seven children and have 14 grandchildren.
