KIWANIS INTERNATIONAL TRUSTEE
Bascom Allen was elected to a three-year term as a Kiwanis International Trustee at the 92nd annual convention in San Antonio in July 2007.
Bascom is a 33-year member and past distinguished president of the Kiwanis Club of Starkville with 28 years of perfect attendance. He has also served as club secretary and treasurer. He earned distinguished honors as governor of the Louisiana-Mississippi-West Tennessee District in 1998-99. He served as chairman or member of International Committees on Resolutions, Elections, and Membership and New Club Building before his election to the International Board. He holds Life Membership in Kiwanis International and is a Diamond Hixson Fellow, Tablet of Honor recipient, and Heritage Society member of the Kiwanis International Foundation.
Bascom is a retired banker. In addition to Kiwanis, he has served his community in a variety of ways, including leadership positions with United Way, Dizzy Dean Baseball League, and the state and local chapters of American Cancer Society.
Bascom enjoys travel, jogging, and grandchildren. He and his wife, Jimmye, are parents of two children and have five grandchildren.
